3 Referring to your Despatch marked Accounts of

the 8th. January, I have the honour to forward a return in

duplicate giving particulars of all the King Edward VII Scholar-

-ships now current, and containing the acknowledgment of the

University for the whole of the sums issued from the Colonial Treasury in respect of the University year 1913-1914.

With reference to the third paragraph of your Despatch payments are made from the Treasury in advance at the commencement of each University year, and I have accordingly to

suggest that complete returns should in future be sent at the

beginning instead of at the close of each year.

3.

I may take this opportunity to transmit a copy

of regulations relative to these scholarships which have been

arranged by the University Authorities in consultation with this

Government, and I enclose also a statement of the scholarships which it is proposed to award over a period of twenty years.
